One of THE BEST Bino Rangefinder money can buy.....!!!

We have Leica's new GEOVID PRO 42 and 56 models in stock.

These are arguably now some of THE BEST Bino Rangefinders money can buy.

    They come in 5 models: 8x32, 10x32, 8x42, 10x42 and an awesome 8x56.

They come preloaded with Applied Ballistics Ultralite software onboard, and can be upgraded through the Leica Ballistics app to Applied Ballistics ELITE software, for a once-off charge of US$150 - this unlocks the full suite of AB ELITE capabilities.

These units have 91% light transmission, absolutely awesome glass, and a 3200 yard rangefinder. Getting the range feedback takes a max of 0.3 seconds, so the distance feedback is pretty much immediate. Because they come with atmospheric sensors all onboard (altitude, humidity, air density, temperature etc), you no longer need a $1000+ Kestrel 5700 Elite as the Leica can doo it all onboard - it saves having potential bluetooth connections lose their connection etc.

The SWEET SPOT of the line-up is the 8x42 with its massive 390 feet Field of View at 1000 yards. Compare that with the 342 feet Field of View on the Geovid Pro 10x42, and you'll see why the 8x42 is such a nice unit to use. Sure you lose out a little on magnification, but the detail you see side to side, makes up for it.

The low-light KING is the 8x56 with it's massive amount of light gathering using 56mm objective lenses - it gives you detailed viewing in extreme low light, long after the 32mm or 42mm objective versions have "dropped off" due to darkness.

The 8x56 also has a massive field of view - 387 feet at 1000 yards.

We have ALL models in stock currently.

Don't we lose depth of field going from the 8x32 to 8x56?

    Adamg, thanks for the comment.

Here's a translated summary that explains it in a bit of detail:

From Holger Merlitz' book "Handferngläser", 1st edition 2013:

    p. 123: "The depth of field which an observer can attain is primarily determined by the accommodation capacity of his eyes, then also by the magnification of the binocular, and to a lesser degree by the diameter of the effective exit pupil..."

    p. 30: "In internet forums there have been statements that the depth of field of a binocular can be affected or optimized by the optical design of the instrument. This is not the case... in the practice of observation, the illusion of an increased depth of field can be created by field curvature, because objects near the observer which would not be sharp in the middle of the field of view appear still sharp in the lower part of the field ... this, however, is a side effect of an optical aberration and should not to be confused with real depth of field... the depth of field of an optical system scales with the reciprocal square of the magnification."

    Interesting, thanks.

I just always hear from the digital camera and SLR camera and CCTV camera people about how aperture size affects DOF. Also I hear about guys putting a restriction aperture on their rifle scopes to increase DOF.
