    With the lack of ammo available for these beauties, Is it considered heresy to have these converted to something like .308?

    Good luck the breech end of the barrel has some complicated machining, one of the dealers in Calgary had hammerlie 308 barrels a few years ago. Doubtful of a smith in canada wanting or able

    Calgary Shooting Centre has dealt with 308 conversions - I think both in-house and those from Switzerland.

    Not sure if InterSurplus has the same availability.

    It's easy to reload them with 308 bullets/powder.. can't beat GP11 but can be pretty close to it.

    I've converted one to 308 so far. Was a fun project.
