    Scotch and Shoot 2023

It’s back! and.... only in Alberta!

The Shooting Edge is once again proud to support Valour Canada and the Military Museum by hosting our annual “Scotch and Shoot”.

Who: Valour Canada is a not-for-profit organization that educates young Canadians about our shared military heritage by developing and providing learning opportunities designed to foster a deeper understanding of who we are as individuals, citizens, and as a nation.

What: A fundraiser unlike anything you ever have attended. $400 for non Valour Members, but only $300 for members…. (hint hint)

As in the past: for your ticket, you will get some shooting (ammunition) tickets, drink tickets (after you shoot) and be fed a great meal by “Wardly BBQ”.

    You will not leave unhappy!

When: Friday October 20th starting at 5pm… don’t worry about being prompt; the shooting goes on for hours!

Where: The Shooting Edge (Bay 4 510 77 Ave SE). Since you’ve last been in, we have changed things up and have 6 lanes of high tech “axe throwing” to keep you further entertained; on top of the incredible shooting experience.

Why: It costs money to run programming that the youth actually will pay attention to!

This year, as we have not been able to run these for a few years, we are making every effort to make this event special.

In addition to the regular epic line-up, such as the AK47, 1928 Tommy Gun, Uzi and more; we will have some special historical firearms that will make their way to the firing line as door prizes and/or a live auction items:

An authentic 1943 German MG42 in 8mm (live auction to shoot)

An authentic 1944 Canadian Bren Mk2 Gun in .303B (door prize to shoot a magazine)

This fundraiser is not to be missed

Tickets this year will be sold directly by Valour Canada. For those that are not members of Valour, I suggest you buy an online membership (which is $50) as you will save $100 on your ticket.

I look forward to seeing everyone again! Please share this as you see fit!

    Warm regards,

    JR

    Absolutely!

This event is based around education and demonstration.

It also happens to raise money for both the museum and Valour Canada.

If we tried to run this in Ontario…. The CFOs head would explode.

That's awesome. This is always an amazing event: Machine guns, Cigars, Whiskeys and great food (BBQ)... Raising money for a great cause as well!

This is one of those times when "it's pricey because it's worth it!"

Really great event. Had a load of FA’s to shot and had a great meal. Managed to run some rounds through the M-16, an UZI, MAC10, STEN and three mags through one of the two Thompsons. Valour Canada had a nice display of WWII and post war machine guns. Great fund raising event for them.

Off to see the Calgary Military Museum today to round out the weekend.
